Local directories are specific to both your location and niche. Being listed on them increases your chances of being discovered online. SEO is important for every website that wants to attract traffic. SEO for non-profits, in that regard, isn’t that different from SEO for other businesses. On regular pages and posts, Google will most probably grab a piece of related content, including the keyword used in the search query. That makes a lot of sense for news sites, for example. Still, I recommend adding a meta description to all your important pages. Link building always paves the way for effective relationship building. Whenever any local publication writes about you (and of course, link back to you), you can establish a relationship with the author as well as the organization. It might lead to getting great results as you never know who that author is connected to.
Good content + bad design = failure
The hardest part can be knowing what customers want to read or watch a video about. From an SEO point of view, the answers can be found in a specialized form of customer research: keyword research. Customers tell Google what they care about, and through the keyword research tool Google allows marketers to view that data. The activity generated by social media suggests that your website is trustworthy, worth sharing, currently important to people, and is being referenced as a valuable resource. PageRank (PR) is an old Google ranking system that was publicly visible. You could see what the PR of a page or domain was and you’d know how powerful it was. Honestly, I wouldn’t suggest moving so quickly that you risk some type of penalty. Particularly with backlinking, if your ‘velocity’ or the time passing and frequency of links procured rises too fast – it will look fishy and unnatural.

As a site owner, however, it’s not always easy to recognize the SEO tips needed to ensure your site is optimized and has a constantly improving website ranking. So, how can you optimize your site with very little effort and increase your profits by simply increasing the traffic to your site? Instead of putting a lot of effort on optimization, it is better to take more time creating top-notch content. If a site, or specific page, has a lot of backlinks pointing to it, Google then sees this page or site as credible. This is only true, though, if those backlinks are coming from quality, reputable sources, and it’s even better when those sites are relevant to your site. Smart content is about taking the financial investment that companies make in their content development and channeling it towards a more effective and data-driven strategy.
Understanding the rationale behind responsive design

To “optimize” for a mobile-first index, make sure that what you serve to mobile users is the version of the content you’d want Google to index, not a pared down version, or a version that gets updated later than desktop, or version that redirects to the mobile homepage. One of the very first things that you need to do in order to gain success in online marketing is to establish the main keyword of your site. When you are able to do that, you can make use of it and optimize your web page with it. If possible, you can also make use of it for your domain name. Don’t rely on the tips you read from unknown sources. If somebody discovers the secret to rank first on Google for competitive keywords, it’s very unlikely that they will share it with strangers. Content simply refers to the text on your homepage, your blog posts, videos you’ve produced, and any podcasts you’ve published. Focus on producing the best content you can – or pay someone to create it for you! Make it compelling, detailed, substantive, accurate and entertaining.
